A Rich Site Summary (RSS) is a format for delivering regularly changing web content.
The syndicated content allows end users to view the content in a RSS Feed Reader.
A GeoRSS feed is a RSS feed that contains geographic information.
What is a GeoRSS Widget?
A GeoRSS widget is a widget in the Omega Dashboard that displays information from a GeoRSS feed.
The GeoRSS widget features a map view and a report view.
What are the requirements for the GeoRSS Widget?
The GeoRSS widget dsplays a GeoRSS feed within the Omega Dashboard.
Geo RSS feeds in RSS 2.0 format only are supported.
The encoding supported is UTF-8, UTF-16LE, UTF-16BE and iso-8859-1.
For each item within the feed, there is to be geographic information which is always in WGS84 latitude/longitude.
Only point features are supported.
The following formats of the geometry are supported: WC3 Basic Geo and GeoRSS-Simple.
