What is the Purpose of Widgets?
Widgets are used to display the data your Dashboard has been configured to use to End Users.
Widgets let Administrators or Designers present content to the End User that is specifically relevant to that End User group. For example, a Designer can create a Briefing Book and accompanying widgets for all officers within the Center Team of a Police Agency.
How do Widgets Work?
Widgets use queries defined by an Administrator or Designer to gather and display data from the database the Omega Dashboard is configured to use.
Widgets can be created, modified or deleted within any pre-existing Briefing Book.
You can create different types of widgets to display data to the End User in different ways.
Widgets Within Selected Briefing Book
Clicking on a Briefing Book in the Briefing Books list will display all widgets currently created for that Briefing Book in the box on the right.
Widgets may be searched using the Search text box. As text is entered, the Widget list is narrowed.
The type of widget is depicted by the icon directly to the left of the Widget name.
The buttons to create, edit, delete or copy a Widget are located below the list.
