To create a GeoRSS widget, select GeoRSS from the Select Widget Type drop down menu.
Select the Briefing Book you would like the widget to be in from the Select Briefing Book drop down menu.
Enter a name for the widget in the Widget Name box.
In the URL field enter the path to the GeoRSS resource. The Omega Dashboard client application must be able to access the resource, the client access policy file must be in place and there are no security restrictions accessing the file. The Maximum Number of Records setting controls the maximum number of records that are to be displayed within the map/report. When the GeoRSS feed contains more records that the threshold, the newest records are displayed. This is based on the published date for the item. The valid range is 1 to 2,000.
The Refresh Rate is the interval, measured in seconds, when the client application pulls the GeoRSS file from the URL to determine if there were any changes. The valid range of this parameter is between 10 and unlimited. The header of the widget is updated with the date/time when the widget was last updated.
When the Use Date Query option is selected, the records within the GeoRSS field are filtered based on a date range. That is, only the latest records up are displayed. The configuration stores the date range in minutes and the dialog within the Omega Dashboard editor allows one to select the units; the editor will convert the value into minutes.
The Symbol drop down lets you choose the symbols used for the map.
